Importance of an inverter in solar power systems
Using an inverter is quite important in a solar power systems as its converts the DC current produced by the solar panels into alternative current known as ac current.AC current pattern is most widely used pattern in homes all over the world.
These inverters may also consist of batteries in case of absence of energy in case of rains, poor sunlight; night etc. The batteries used are similar to ordinary car batteries. Lead acid based batteries are most commonly used in solar power systems. A charge controller should be used in order to prevent the batteries being damaged from overcharging. They also contribute in increasing the maximum life span of batteries Most of the inverters should be placed indoors as they are not waterproof and are not suitable for open environment.
The inverters are required in solar home lighting devices however they are not required for solar heating devices as such devices are directly used to heat up the water.
